Reading these pages or using these calculators means you accept the terms below and the disclaimer, which is part of them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. We may revise these terms; the date at the foot of this page shows when they last changed, and continued use after that date is acceptance of the revision.

What this site is for

General information and estimation tools for recreational anglers. It is not professional advice, it is not a legal reference for fishing regulation, and it is not a substitute for the state and federal agencies whose publications we cite. Where we quote a regulation we link the authority so you can read it yourself, and that authority governs, not us.

Accuracy and the limits of what we promise

We take verifiable sourcing seriously — every figure carries a publisher, a link and a check date, and the build refuses to publish a source that has gone stale, as set out in ourfact-checking policy. That is a genuine commitment about our process. It is not a warranty about outcomes.

The site and its calculators are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Results from a calculator are estimates produced by a published equation applied to numbers you supplied. Regulatory figures are what a named document said on a stated date and may have changed since.

What you may and may not do

You may read, print and share these pages, quote from them with attribution and a link, and use the calculators as much as you like, including for commercial fishing guiding or tackle retail. None of that requires permission.

You may not:

• Republish substantial portions of the text as your own, with or without alteration.
• Scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other readers, or circumvent any access control.
• Present output from these calculators as authoritative measurement, official regulation or advice from a state agency.
• Use the site in a way that breaks any applicable law, or attempt to introduce malicious code to it.

Who owns what

The text, page structure, code and original tables on this site belong to the operators of Big River Fishing. The underlying facts do not, and cannot: a bag limit, a pool acreage and a published equation are facts, and we claim nothing over them. Where we reproduce a table of figures from a government document the figures remain that agency's work, and we cite it.

Product names, brands and agency names appearing on this site belong to their respective owners and are used to identify the thing being described. Nothing here implies endorsement in either direction.

Links to other sites

We link out constantly, because a source you cannot open is not a source. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the specific fact it supports. Agencies reorganise their websites; if a link here is dead, tell us through the contact page.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators of Big River Fishing are not liable for any loss, injury, penalty, citation or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on anything published on it, including indirect and consequential loss. That includes a fishing citation arising from a regulation figure that changed after we checked it, and any incident occurring while you are on the water.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions of liability. Where that is so, this section applies to the maximum extent that jurisdiction allows and the remainder of these terms stays in force.

Advertising

This site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertisers have no input into editorial content, as described in our editorial policy, and we take no affiliate commission on tackle. We are not party to, and accept no responsibility for, any transaction you enter into with an advertiser.

General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term on one occasion does not waive it. These terms, together with theprivacy policy and the disclaimer, are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of this site. Questions go through the contact page.
