Contact the editorial team

There is no contact form here, deliberately — a form would need a server, and this site does not have one. Email reaches a person who can open the source document and check the figure you are asking about, which is what most messages turn out to need. If you are writing about a number on acalculator page or in one of theriver guides, send the URL and we will start there.

How to reach us

admin@bigriverinnwi.com

We aim to reply within 5 working days. Corrections jump the queue, and anything affecting a legal obligation — a bag limit, a size limit, a license requirement — is handled the day we confirm it.

Reporting an error

This is the message we most want to receive. To make it fast to act on, include:

  • The page URL.
  • The figure or sentence you think is wrong, quoted.
  • What you believe the correct value is, and where you saw it, if you have that.

We check the claim against its cited source rather than against our memory of writing it. If we were wrong, we fix the page and note what changed. If we were right, we write back with the citation so you can see the reasoning. Either way you get an answer, and ourfact-checking policy describes the process in full.

Suggesting coverage

We cover two navigation pools in depth rather than fourteen at a glance, and we would rather add the third properly than add ten badly. If you fish a pool you think we should cover, tell us what makes it different — the access situation, a rule quirk, a gauge that does not exist. That is more useful than the request itself.

The same goes for calculators. The tools we have exist because we could source the equation behind them. If you want one we do not have, a pointer to a published equation or agency table makes it possible; without one it is not something we will build.

Press, permissions and everything else

Quoting from this site with attribution and a link needs no permission, as set out in our terms of use. Republishing substantial portions does. For anything commercial, including advertising enquiries, use the same address and say what you are asking for in the subject line.

We are not the Big River Inn. This domain previously belonged to a lodging business in Genoa, Wisconsin that no longer operates, and we hold no records relating to it and cannot help with bookings, refunds or tracing its former operators. The Genoa history page explains the background.
